There is unprecedented opportunity out there to start a small business, but avoid these scams at all costs:  Assembly or crafts from homeStuffing envelopesData EntryWork at home medical jobsMulti-level marketing operationsHow would you like to create a little “mini-factory” and make things like clothes or toys on your own schedule? One of the biggest work from home opportunities out there are companies looking for people to build their products out of their homes and then sell them for profit. You may hear some different details and perhaps bolder promises, but this is your standard “mini-factory” small business scam sales pitch. What actually happens is the investor is required to invest serious money on equipment and materials. Naturally the company never intended to buy any products from the investor and can legally avoid doing so by citing poor work and inferior quality. One of the more popular scams sweeping the work from home genre is this notion of making big money by sitting around and doing nothing more than stuffing envelopes–have you heard this one? At the heart of this scam is a very clever but unexpected surprise. Investors place their own envelope stuffing ads in order to make their money back.  It never had anything to do with envelope stuffing! So unless you are willing to con other people out of their money by investing even more cash in advertising, there is no way to recoup your investment. Most people have a computer and Internet connection these days and the scammers are taking advantage of this fact. There is a lot of variation in computer-related scams, but the most common to be on the watch for are any relating to data entry, online surveys, or word processing. While this information is vital to helping you get your small computer venture off the ground, youi will first need to pay for it. In most cases, all the investor receives is a vague and meaningless report with no specific information, no job, and no viable route to making a living from home. Without supplying a specific blueprint, these work from home opportunities amount to scams that only waste time, money, and effort. Now there is definitely a true shortage of health care works, and scam artists are out there promising to help teach you how to start a small business that will capitalize on this shortage and make you a small fortune. Many are hooked into these scams because they involve medical billing from home which is a true field growing everyday as health care providers look for new ways to fill a shortage of workers. But the price for these programs can be in the thousands and require financing! The large investment would be worthwhile if the investor received what was promised.  But instead of a thriving home medical business, most investors end up with no clients, no income, and no way to recoup that money. In fact, it is highly unlikely the investor will recoup their initial investment because it is so difficult to attain contracts with health care providers. These medical billing home based businesses amount to little more than scams due to the poor odds of recouping the initial investment, let alone earning a true living. The classic pyramid scheme remains the most popular home based business scams out there, with more variations than one can imagine. These scams all promise to make you a distributor so that you earn a commission from your sales plus that of anyone you bring in under you. For the unwitting investor, this all appears to be a perfectly legitimate company with real products and a real opportunity to get ahead. While pyramid and MLM schemes all appear like a great opportunity for the investor to get in on the ground floor of an expanding operation, even the products themselves are worthless. Only the people at the top make any money while everyone else starves waiting for their ship to come in.Make no mistake, these are not the only scams you need to avoid in the home based business genre. New scams are being created every day. The world is filled with thousands of scams but there are even more legitimate opportunities out there. If you can avoid the scams and identify the legitimate work from home opportunities, then there has never been a better time to get control of your financial future!
